Recycling at the Marina

Recycle image

Mandatory requirements went into effect July 1, 2014 for Alameda County/City of Alameda requiring everyone to sort recyclables from compost and garbage. We will be adding compost containers to the trash enclosures and installing signs to help indicate which items go into which containers. Cardboard boxes must be flattened or cut up. Under the guidelines, co- mingling of waste, compost and recyclables is a violation subject to fines and penalties. We support this important initiative and ask for your full cooperation.

Marina WiFi Installation Complete

Beacon WiFiWelcome to the Beacon NextGen Wireless system, which allows you to easily and securely register each of your devices for use.

The first time each device is connected to the network, a registration page will load, either after a browser is launched or automatically, depending on your device settings.  A 10 digit Voucher will be requested and once successfully entered, that device will be registered.

Your device will automatically be connected each time afterwards, with no login/registration page.  Security and authentication will verify your device each time, but this happens in the background requiring no interaction from the user.  Each 10 digit Voucher allows use for a specified period of time and after that time has expired a new 10 digit Voucher will be required.

Personal Pets

Dog leash on dockPlease remember that having a personal pet with you at the Marina is a privilege that comes with responsibility.

Dog cleanup crew.

No pets should be allowed off leash on any docks or common areas and of course:

you must immediately clean up after your pet.

Ongoing Dock Repairs

Dock repair work

You may note that in addition to our SRM staff, the crew of ARJ and Son Construction has been and will continue to be busy with some necessary dock repairs and renovations throughout the Marina.

This is all in an effort to keep our Marina in tiptop shape. In connection therewith, we would like to remind you that all personal property, such as bicycles, kayaks, dinghies, plants, etc. need to be kept directly on your boat and not on any adjacent walkways or docks.

And, of course, always walk your bikes on the docks as there is no bike riding on the docks at any time.

Batten Down the Hatches!

Sinking boatWinter is approaching and if you haven’t been to your boat in a while, it’s a good time to seal hatches, check dock lines, check your shore power & bilge pumps.

Remember dirty boats may result in clogged through holes and end up with the result you see here - so keep your boat clean!
